(Litchi News, Reporter/Liu Yuxin) On July 24, the Hydrogen-Oxygen Medical Therapy Center at the Yincheng Junyi Oriental International Health and Wellness Community, affiliated with Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital, was officially launched. At the launch ceremony, Academician Jian'an Li shared insights on the relationship between health and the environment, stating, "Health refers to the interaction between humans and their environment. Being ill does not mean being unhealthy. Maintaining a positive mindset and living in harmony with the environment—that is health".
In recent years, the trend of population aging has intensified, drawing widespread attention to the rehabilitation and elderly care issues of the older population. "Preventing illness before it occurs" has become a hot topic. The common pathological basis of pre-disease or pre-symptomatic conditions is chronic inflammation, which subtly impacts physical health. To address such concealed lesions, a non-specific and safe approach is required.
As demonstrated by extensive pre-clinical data and a growing body of clinical evidence, the non-specific mechanism of hydrogen as a therapeutic antioxidant endows it with broad application potential across a wide range of medical fields. Professor Lü Youyong from Peking University Cancer Hospital explained, "Hydrogen-oxygen inhalation scavenges reactive oxygen species, provides energy to cells, and effectively alleviates certain chronic conditions in the elderly, such as gastrointestinal issues and sleep disorders."
Currently, China's traditional elderly care model is gradually evolving towards an integrated, multi-platform, and multi-level system that combines medical treatment, rehabilitation, nursing, and wellness. Medical devices that can provide auxiliary daily treatment for the elderly in wellness institutions have also become a "bonus point" when selecting elderly care facilities.

Related research projects involve improving the side effects of tumor radiotherapy and chemotherapy, as well as common geriatric diseases such as asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), sleep-disordered breathing, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease.
